Meet Michelle, our Founder

I’m a neurodivergent leader and senior people and culture practitioner with a mission: to create a world where neurodivergent individuals are not just included, but truly seen, supported, and empowered.

Kaboose was born from a deeply personal place, watching my own son face isolation, missed opportunities, and a system that wasn’t built for him. I knew he wasn’t alone. So I set out to build the community I wish we’d had.

With over 20 years of global experience across tech, people, and executive leadership, including roles as Chief People Officer, I now use that knowledge to bridge the gap between business and belonging.

Neurodivergence, better supported.

Kaboose exists to make neurodiversity support easier to find, easier to use and more useful in real life. Built by neurodivergent people, we bring together practical learning, community and lived experience to help neurodivergent people navigate everyday life – and help the people and organisations around them better understand how to support them.

The Beginning

It started with a gap.

Kaboose began with our founder, Michelle Ridsdale. As a neurodivergent People & Culture leader and a parent, Michelle saw first-hand how difficult it could be to find the right support at the right moment.

There was information. There were services. There were communities. But practical, accessible support for the everyday stuff – finding your people, understanding yourself, navigating work, communicating what you need – was much harder to find. So she set out to build something different.

That became Kaboose.

WHERE WE ARE NOW

Support for real life.

Today, Kaboose brings practical learning, community and events together in one place. Our Neuro Nuggets turn complex topics into short, useful guidance people can watch, read or listen to. Our community creates space to connect with people who get it. And our events bring lived experience and expertise together to explore the conversations that need more than five minutes.

But supporting neurodivergent people can’t only be the responsibility of neurodivergent people. That’s why Kaboose is also built for the managers, colleagues, educators, families and organisations around them – giving more people the knowledge and tools to understand difference and respond to it well.

GUIDING PRINCIPLES

What makes us tick.

Our Vision

A world where neurodivergent people can navigate every part of life with confidence – understood by the people around them, supported by communities that get it, and equipped with knowledge that actually helps.

Our Mission

To build the knowledge, tools and community that help neurodivergent people navigate life – and help the people and organisations around them rise to meet them where they are.

OUR VALUES

What guides us.

Built around difference

Different brains need different things. We design with that in mind, creating flexible ways to learn, connect and take part from the start.

Every brain is unique

No two neurodivergent experiences are the same. What works for one person may not work for another, so choice and flexibility truly matter.

Transparency

We’re clear about what Kaboose is, what it isn’t and how we work. We listen, share what we’re learning and keep improving through feedback.

Belonging without performance

Belonging shouldn’t require masking or pretending. We create space for people to show up, connect and take part in ways that work for them.

MEET MICHELLE

Our Founder & CEO.

Michelle Ridsdale’s background spans People & Culture, technology and executive leadership – experience that gave her a close-up view of how workplaces and systems can either enable people or make everyday life unnecessarily difficult. But Kaboose started somewhere much more personal.

Watching her son experience isolation and barriers that shouldn’t have been there made the gap impossible to ignore. She wanted to build the kind of support she wished had been easier to find for her own family. Kaboose began there. It has grown because the need was never theirs alone.

Today, Michelle and the Kaboose team are building towards a bigger goal: a world where neurodivergent people have practical support when they need it – and where the people, workplaces and communities around them are better equipped to meet them halfway.
